1) For how long have you been coming to Stroller Power? 1 year, 2 months
2) How many Stroller Power classes do you attend each week? Most of the time 4, sometimes 3.
3) What were your goals for yourself when you first started Stroller Power ? To get healthy! Yes, I wanted to lose weight but I could tell that my overall health was declining. I was tired, moody, and I didn’t feel as strong as I used to be.
Stroller Power has exceeded my expectations! You know when you start anything, there comes a point where you don’t feel like going or you get bored with it. Well, that has NOT happened with Stroller Power. I love the different classes and music and I’ve not once been bored with it! I also love how much Anna Beth has learned! Every morning she wakes up she says “Are we going to Stroller Power today”. Boy, that’s motivation enough;) I love all the friendships we have made as well! I feel like I have a very large extended family!
5) Which type of Stroller Power class is your favorite and why?
Even though it’s one of the hardest, I love the cardio blast and cardio power. Cardio endurance is something that I lack, so these classes are really beneficial and heart healthy, I can feel the fat melting away!
6) Which exercise has become your favorite and why?
I love using the weights. I feel like I can push myself a little more with weights. My favorite exercise (we haven’t done it in a while) but the shuttle run with the weighted ball. I guess it reminds me of teaching PE!
7) What is your least favorite exercise and why?
Hmm, I guess anything we do backwards. Usually the skipping backwards I guess. Even though it’s a great exercise because we’re using our muscles in a way they are not used too, I’m kind of clumsy so I’m always afraid I’m going to run into something;0
8) How much weight or body fat have you lost since starting Stroller Power?
I’m smiling as I’m writing this! I’ve lost exactly 20 lbs since I’ve started. I’ve also gone down two sizes have to go shopping!
9) What dietary changes did you make at home to help with your success?
My husband and I used to have a “pizza” night once a week. We don’t do that anymore! We very rarely eat pizza and we now realize how many calories we used to consume on a weekly basis. I also used to want “dessert” after dinner. I usually go in and brush my teeth right after dinner and that stops me from munching on anything after a meal.
10) How did your family adapt to the dietary changes?
Very well. My husband is losing weight too and he knows how important the changes are to me. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to make these changes if my family was not on my side!
11) How do you stay motivated?
You know, honestly the results are motivation enough for me. Not only in weight loss, but I’m stronger, happier, and have more energy. I’ve noticed that on my “stroller power” days, the whole day is just wonderful. Those days that I don’t exercise, I’ve noticed I tend to not have as much patience with my daughter and students and I tend to be more tired in the afternoons.
12) What advice would you give to other Moms when it comes to losing the baby weight?
It’s a long process. Exercise is key. Watching what you eat is important but only exercise will help you tone and help give you the body you want back! I love to eat and I don’t believe in eliminating anything from your diet that you are used to eating. I’ve tried this and it has only made me eat more of it. So I feel it’s all about portion sizes and having control over what you eat. Don’t let the food control you, you control the food. If I am eating a dessert, I only eat a few bites so I can really taste it and either save the rest for another day, or throw it away.

Additional Comments: I was just looking at pictures from a year ago and could not believe what I saw. At the time, I really didn’t think I was that over weight. I feel like I’m the “real me” now and am happy as I can be! There are a lot of “little” things that I notice now. I don’t mind looking in the mirror, or posing for a picture. I also feel so strong nowJ Thank you Cindy and Patti!!
